What is the difference between Fungi-Nail® Toe & Foot® antifungal treatment and nail whitening treatments?
Fungi-Nail® Toe & Foot® contains the FDA approved anti-fungal ingredient, Undecylenic Acid, to treat toe and foot fungus. It contains the maximum strength available without a prescription and begins working immediately to eliminate fungal infections for toe and athlete’s foot fungus. Nail whitening treatments are only used to temporarily improve the cosmetic appearance of the nail and do not treat the actual fungus infection.
Fungi-Nail® Toe & Foot® is an antifungal that kills fungus to eliminate the infection around the nails. You should see improvements in appearance and healthy tissue while using Fungi-Nail in as little as 4 weeks, however, it may take longer depending on severity, and it takes 6-9 months for a new nail to grow out.
It is safe to use both
Fungi-Nail® Toe & Foot® antifungal and nail renewal treatments at the same time, with the antifungal treating the exposed fungus around the nail, and the cosmetic nail renewal formula to improve the appearance of nails.
If Fungi-Nail® Toe & Foot® is used to treat finger, toe and foot fungus, why does it say “not effective on nails” on the package?
This statement refers to the application of the product, NOT its general effectiveness on eliminating fungus. Over the counter anti-fungal products are not effective on the nails because they do not penetrate the nails, therefore making it ineffective on the nail itself.
How should I apply Fungi-Nail® Toe & Foot® to get the best results?
For the best results, be sure to follow the directions for the specific product you are using. Find detailed instructions by clicking on the links below. You can talk to your pharmacist if you still have questions.
Are there any tips to help prevent fungal infections?
In order to help prevent fungal infections, maintain proper hygiene and follow these steps:
- Keep your nails short, dry and clean.
- Trim nails straight across and file down thickened areas.
- Wear socks and change them at least every 24 hours so your feet can “breathe.”
- Use an anti-fungal product as soon as you notice an infection to keep it from spreading.
- Select a well-known manicure and pedicure salon, and bring your own instruments.
- Don’t trim or pick at the skin around your nails.
- Don’t walk barefoot in public places such as pools, locker rooms and/or showers.
- Since fungal infections can spread from one person to another, wash your hands.
How long will it take for me to see results?
All of our products begin working right away, but you may not see results until healthy, new skin begins to grow where the infection is being treated.
For toe and foot fungus you should start seeing results in four weeks, however, you may need to keep using Fungi-Nail® Toe & Foot® for a longer period of time to allow for the re-growth of healthy, new tissue.
For athlete’s foot you may begin to get relief from such symptoms as itching, burning and redness within one week. To make sure the fungal infection is completely gone, continue to treat the area until your skin is completely healed, or for four weeks. Apply between and around your toes to moisturize and heal irritated skin associated with athlete’s foot.
What if I don’t know what type of fungal infection I have?
If you are not sure what type of fungal infection you have, it is best to see a doctor so that he/she can help you.
Can I wear nail polish or acrylic nails while using Fungi-Nail® Toe & Foot®?
All Fungi-Nail® Toe & Foot® products are nail polish and acrylic friendly. However, letting infected nails “breathe” can help speed recovery. Fungi-Nail® Toe & Foot® is applied to the skin around your cuticle and underneath the tip of the nail not directly to the nail, so it will not damage your manicure or pedicure. If you do choose to polish your nails, Fungi-Nail should be applied after nail polish or acrylics have thoroughly dried and hardened.
What makes Fungi-Nail® Toe & Foot® different than other anti-fungal products?
- Fungi-Nail® Toe & Foot® is recommended by over 245,000 pharmacists and have been successfully treating fungus for more than 25 years.
- Fungi-Nail® Toe & Foot® products contain the maximum strength formula available in an over-thecounter anti-fungal product.
- Fungi-Nail® Toe & Foot® was the first to introduce unique applicators—an easier way to get the right amount right where you need it.
